The Chequers pub in Bickley dates back to the seventeenth century and we strive to uphold a fine tradition in offering first rate beverages alongside great pub fayre. The Chequers prides itself on its warm friendly atmosphere created by our dedicated staff and many regulars.
In today's world pubs all too often fall into one of a few simple types, not so at The Chequers which in one week can see the excitement of large crowds drawn to watch football, rugby and other sports through to the laughter of children enjoying the bouncy castle in the family friendly beer garden or the fun exercising of grey matter on quiz night. This pub really does offer something for everyone.
We benefit from a 'two bar' layout and although they are no longer separated by walls or doors they conveniently cater for our varied clientele, one side is home to our professional pool table and large projector screen whilst the other offers plenty of snug seating, warm fires in winter and is the spot of choice for regulars. Four widescreen LCD screens throughout the pub ensure you're never far from the action.For whatever reason you come to visit the Chequers we will be here to ensure that you have a good time and exceed your expectations.
