The Chequers Super Sunday Quiz takes place every Sunday evening from 9pm, it costs only one pound per person to play in teams of a maximum of seven people. The quiz has grown to become something of a local institution not least because of its large Cash Jackpots - the largest in Bromley by far. The highest single Jackpot win to date was seven hundred and one pounds (won on the 27th May 2007).
How Does It Work?
The quiz follows a similar format each week and often includes a picture round and a current affairs round followed by two other rounds of the Quizmaster's choosing. Each team has a joker which when played at the beginning of any round will gain them double points. However the winner of each quiz is by no means guaranteed the Jackpot, they have to correctly answer the 'Killer Question'
Some examples of previous Killer Questions are...
- What is the only letter of the alphabet not to appear on the periodic table?
- Who led Jagdeschwader I?
- What does the W in George W Bush stand for?
- How many times has Ireland won the Eurovision Song contest?
- What are the three official languages of New Zealand?
